Programs We Offer

Kids with Special Needs

Our main goal is to provide a nature connection for kids who might not otherwise have a chance to visit a farm.  Autistic children, developmentally disabled kids, and kids from disadvantaged backgrounds all benefit tremendously from being around farm animals in a peaceful setting.  Golden Rainbow Ranch  provides a space for exploration, quiet meditation, or an educational tour of the farm.   We can design a 2-4 hour program based on your group’s needs. Whether  you want an activity packed afternoon or a quiet, restful escape from city life, Golden Rainbow Ranch is the place.

Our non-profit is set up to give these special kids this experience for a suggested donation of only $10.00 per child.

Field Trips for Youth Groups, Schools, and other Organizations

Other groups of kids are welcome to visit the ranch for the low suggested donation of $20.00 per child. Let us plan a 3 hour program based on the age of the kids and their interests.  Remember, we are both experienced teachers who love to write  “curriculum”- we can design any type of activities including animal petting, feeding, and brushing; bone identification; nature arts and crafts; microscopes; insects; ecology; eco-agriculture, and more.

If you need a program to fit the Sunshine State Standards, we can do that too. Keeping a nature journal can improve FCAT writing scores.  Observations of nature and data collection help with the  science FCATAnd of course, if you just want a fun farm experience with a tractor pulled hay-ride, animal petting and feeding, and a lunch (bring your own) in our shady picnic area, 3 hours will fly by faster than you would imagine.

Scout Badge Workshops (click for list of badges)

All grade levels of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts can complete many of the outdoor badge requirements at the Golden Rainbow Ranch.  Tell us your badge needs, and we can design a perfect program for your group.  Not only do we have ten acres of different ecosystems to explore, but we also have an air-conditioned nature center complete with microscopes and computers to round out the experience.  In addition, we  have an outdoor mock dig site, where Scouts can participate in field work,  just as real archaeologists and paleontologists do.  Prices for badge workshops vary- call us or hit the “Contact Us” button on the left for more information.

Birthday Parties- ONLY at Golden Rainbow Ranch (no traveling)

Every parent dreams of the perfect birthday party, and so does every kid.   A party at our ranch is about as close as you can come.  Kids can party for 3 hours with the animals, the environment, and Miss Ali and her amazing crew of volunteers!  We begin with a safety talk in the air-conditioned nature center.  We play with the bunnies, and maybe some new chicks or baby quail, in a circle on the floor.  Next is an entertaining tour of the farm, where the kids feed animals, brush horses, and frolic with the goats.   Back to the nature center, a hand-wash, and time to collect eggs and hold some chickens!  All the kids get an opportunity to collect at least one egg from our nesting boxes.   A break for cake and food usually happens around now.  We finish off the day with a tour of the goat pasture, some time with Turnip the miniature donkey and Sam the horse, and finally, a visit with Maverick and Mardi Gras, the alpacas. We usually finish the party under  our  300 year old oak tree, where kids can swing on our two tree swings.

Remember, we are a non-profit for kids with special needs, so your child’s party helps support kids who may not have the resources that you do.

Fee:  $300.00

Limited to 15 people or less.

We prefer that no gifts be opened at the party to give everyone maximum time with the animals!

Kids with special needs are also welcome to have birthday parties for half the price. Please email us (use the”contact us” button on the left)  about your group to find out whether you qualify for  our discounted rates.
